MyLetter.jp private mailboxes are offered at three locations: Ginza, Osaka and Sendai. It does not matter where you live. You can use them from anywhere in Japan, and even if you live overseas.
Whether you live in Nagoya, Fukuoka or overseas
A private mailbox does not need to be near your home. We receive your parcels at Ginza, Osaka or Sendai and forward them to the address you specify. You can forward anywhere in Japan, or overseas.
For example, someone living in Nagoya uses a Ginza address. Someone in Sapporo uses an Osaka address. Both are perfectly ordinary ways to use the service. In fact, customers from all over Japan and overseas use it.
In fact, there are reasons to choose a faraway address
- When you do not want your home area to be known. An address far from where you live feels safer
- When you want to use it as a business address. A Ginza address can be used on business cards and in disclosures under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions
- When you want to use it as your company registration address (available at Ginza and Osaka)

Locations that have closed
We used to offer addresses in Nagoya, Shibuya, Toyosu, New York and Washington, DC, but these have now closed. If you came here looking for one of them, please choose Ginza, Osaka or Sendai. We can still forward to anywhere in Japan or overseas, as before.
For customers who ship to overseas addresses, we also have a plan with a 0 yen monthly base fee.
About forwarding addresses
- We send to the address you specify, such as your home, workplace or parents’ home
- You can change your forwarding address anytime and register several addresses
- If you do not want your family to know, we send it to be held at a post office near you
- Forwarding overseas is by EMS (international express mail) or similar services
Please note
- To use the service, identity verification (submitting ID documents) is required under the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds.
- You cannot register your resident record (juminhyo) here (your resident record must be kept at the address where you actually live).
- Please do not post your registered address as text on the web.
- The minimum contract period is 3 months.
